Well, it needs to be done some time, so I figured why not now.
There are nine classes in this game, divided up into 3 categories.
Offense
Scout: The quickest class, very low health, able to double jump, captures points doubly fast.
Soldier: Average speed, average health, able to rocket jump.
Pyro: Average speed, average health, can set people on fire with Flamethrower, is resistant to being set on fire.
Defense
Demoman: Average speed, average health, can grenade jump, has stickybombs that can stick to any surface.
Heavy Weapons Guy: Very slow, highest health, commonly known as HWGs or Heavies.
Engineer: Average speed, average health, can build four types of "buildings," which need metal to be built.
Support
Medic: High speed, low health, can heal other units on their teams, has an "ubercharge" that when activated, makes the Medic and any one he heals invulnerable for a short time.
Sniper: High speed, average health, also sometimes known as a "Ranger."
Spy: High speed, low health, can disguise themselves as a member of other team, can turn invisible.
In almost all cases, it is beneficial to have at least one Engineer at any given time. The only possible exception is when you are on Dustbowl/Gravel Pit, and only then when you are on offense.
Medics are always a great idea. The Medic/HWG(Heavy Weapons Guy) combo can tear through opposing forces. However, Medics can also do very well with Soldiers, Pyros, Demomen, and other classes that are at about the same speed.
It is necessary to have an eye on your health at all times. Health does not just regenerate willy nilly in this game. You have Hit Points that go down when shot, when you fall from too high a distance, or when you stay too long underwater (though those regenerate once back out of water). The only ways to regenerate your health are to get healed by a Medic or to stand next to a Dispenser of your own color (unless you are disguised as a Spy).
Each class has their own set of weapons, at least one gun and one melee weapon. You are not able to pick up other classes' weapons. You can, however, pick up the fallen weapons on the ground to replenish your ammo/Engineer's metal. Usually though, this is unnecessary, as the only weapons that run out of ammo that quickly are the Pyro's Flamethrower and the HWG's Chain Gun.
In control point games, you are only able to take points that do not have a lock symbol over them in the HUD and are of the opposite color/blank.
There are only two definite 1HKO's, getting a headshot with a Sniper or stabbing someone in the back with the Spy's knife.
Most Importantly: there is no Deathmatch/Slayer gametype in TF2. Don't play it like one. If you do, people will get angry at you.
Tell me what you guys think. I'll let people specialize things like classes and maps.
